Antelope Canyon

This image was taken inside Antelope Canyon which is a few feet wide and fifteen to twenty five feet deep. Through eons flash floods have carved sensuous curves in the striated red sandstone. This image was taken midday, when the sun is high casting light into the canyon. This creates a lovely mix of hues from yellow to red to purplish and a wide range of tonal contrast. This vertical composition shows a little bit of the sandy floor framed by wavy edges of the nearby, left and right canyon walls. Just a few feet further away the canyon twists out of sight and the view, still framed by the near left and right walls, is of a top lit, sculpted canyon wall on top and at the bottom around the corner, out of sight, a sun beam reaches the canyon floor and cast bright yellow light on the lower section of the wall.
