Svinafellsjokull

Mossy, green tundra pervades Iceland. This wide angle, vertical, predawn image shows a close view of this tundra during autumn. In the bottom two thirds of the image there are red and yellow tiny plants growing in and around green, moss clumps. In the upper third there is a pond that reflects a nearby mountain on the right and a glacier and distant mountains on the left. Above the mountains is a mostly cloudy sky turned yellowish by the morning sun, but some blue patches are also present.
